Sample Blog Format for Grow Local

This is one candidate for an online tool to capture information shared on Grow Local. It is one of the options and no decision is made as of Dec 4, 2022 about how to proceed. There are several advantages of using this platform:

Pro (reasons to us this blog format):

  1. Easy for any google account holder to be added so they can participate in adding new information
    1. Multi contributor authoring
  2. "Post by email" -- each authorized user can send to their "secret email"
    1. Subject line becomes the title of the post
    2. The body of the email becomes the body of the blog post
    3. Embedded/attached images show up
    4. (tags have to be added later)
  3. Tags make it easy for viewers to find all the posts with that information; for example, soil, water, planting trees, regnerative, mycorrhizal,
  4. Simple to use - create new post, type or paste in words, add image(s) or videos, and publish!
  5. Easily accessible using any web browser for visitors
Cons (cautions):
  1. Need a google account (not everyone has one nor wants one...)

2020-01-14 Announcement of first meeting

YOUR INVITATION to Grow Local for the Planet zoom gatherings

Please come join fellow gardening enthusiasts. You are welcome whether you are a beginner or expert; whether you want to grow trees, native plants or veggies, to replace your lawn, attract pollinators or create a fruit orchard.

Our mission is to build a community of local gardeners in Winchester, to promote the enjoyment of gardening and being part of nature, growing healthy foods, and making our planet healthier one garden at a time.

Best practice gardening is about reciprocity between the gardener and the earth. You help rebuild life in the soil with water, nutrients, plants and your labor. In turn, you get satisfaction and joy from growing healthy foods and beautiful landscapes. You contribute to a healthier yard, town, planet, atmosphere. And you connect to and build community with fellow gardeners.

Come to our first monthly Zoom gathering on Wednesday, January 27 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and see what we can cultivate!  Email Fred Yen at   growlocal@wfmchub.org
